Police report: man transported to hospital with serious injuries following ATV collision

On March 7  just after midnight officers of the Lennox and Addington (L&A) County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and other emergency crews responded to a report of a single All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) collision on County Road 8 in Greater Napanee.

The lone male occupant of the ATV was transported by paramedics to hospital with serious injuries. The investigation remains ongoing by L&A County OPP.

-On March 7 at approximately 7 a.m., officers of the Lennox and Addington OPP responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Melrose Road in Tyendinaga Township.  Investigation revealed that a vehicle had entered a ditch and the driver left the scene.

Police located the driver and during the investigation officers utilized an Approved Screening Device (ASD). The driver was taken to the L&A County Detachment for further testing. As a result a 25-year-old of Tyendinaga Township has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired
  • Operating a motor vehicle while over legal blood alcohol limit

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on May 4, 2021. The accused’s licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

-On March 7 at 1:00 p.m. officers of the Lennox and Addington OPP and other emergency crews responded to a report of a snowmobile collision involving two snowmobiles near Denbigh in Addington Highlands Township.

Investigation revealed that one snowmobile lost control and came to rest in front of the second snowmobile. One driver was transported by paramedics to hospital with minor injuries. The investigation remains ongoing by L&A County OPP.
