Police charge two with impaired

Members of the Lennox and Addington (L&A) County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged two drivers in impaired driving related investigations.

On Aug, 12, 2022, at approximately 8:30 p.m., officers responded to a traffic complaint on County Road 8 in Napanee.

Officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. Officers spoke to the driver who was subsequently arrested and transported to detachment for further testing.

As a result a 62 years old, of Napanee, Ontario, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

On Aug. 14, 2022, at approximately 12:00 a.m., officers were conducting a RIDE program on County Road 14 in Stone Mills Township when a vehicle approached the area.

Officers stopped the vehicle and spoke to the driver who was subsequently arrested and transported to detachment for further testing.

As a result a 33 years old, of South Frontenac Township, Ontario was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

Both accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee at a later date. Their licences were suspended for 90 days, and vehicles were impounded for seven days.
