Police charge Napanee man with animal cruelty following incident in Conservation Park

On June 6 around 1:30 p.m., members of the Lennox and Addington OPP responded to a report of a disturbance at Conservation Park in Greater Napanee.

The investigation found a male party had jumped on a group of Canada Geese, killing one of the birds.

On June 8, 2020 L&A County OPP charged a 24-year-old man of Greater Napanee under the Criminal Code with:

  • Mischief – interferes with any person in lawful use, enjoyment of property;
  • Cruelty to animals-unnecessary pain suffering or injury; and
  • Fail to comply with a Probation Order – three counts

The accused was held for a bail hearing by video at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on June 9.
