The Napanee Country Butcher Shop Peewee BBs advanced to the OMHA semifinals with a fine 6-2 win in Lindsay. They won four of the five games in the series. Saturday, the teams traded goals in the first as Kohen Cutler and Mason Goodfellow each chipped in a goal. Goodfellow would get the winner seconds into the second frame. Mitchel Turner, Tie Wood, would add to the total, and Goodfellow did the rest of the damage completing his hat trick. They will face Midland in the upcoming series.
-The Napanee Canadian Tire Peewee AEs are down two games to none with South Muskoka, after losing 2-0 and 6-4 this weekend. In Sunday’s home game, each team got on the board in the first frame. Cruz Maracle bounced the puck off the goalie’s helmet into the net from behind the goal line. Ashton Hoyte set up Nate Vanberkel with a fine pass, which Jacob Cox was able to deposit in the back of the net. In the third, Coulson South would tip Cox’s shot to get them close, and Drew Osborne would tie it at four, but South Muskoka would regain the lead, and add an empty net goal.
-After two weekend losses to Lindsay, the Calderwood Automation Bantam BBs are tied at two games each, and will need to earn a win on Saturday to advance to the semifinal round of OMHA playoffs. On Saturday, the boys came out strong, as Jack Osborne scored 24 seconds into the contest picking up a rebound of Gavin Brooks’ point shot. Luc Amat scored on a between-the-legs pass by Spencer Cranley. Cranley blasted one high, blocker side to make it 3-1, but the Muskies tied it up before the period ended. Two men short early in the third, the Stars gave up the winner. Shots favoured the Muskies 28-21.
Sunday in Lindsay, Brooks found the net early in the first, but the Muskies replied with four of their own to tie the series at four points each in the six point series.
-The Napanee Windoorman Midget BBs ended their playoff run with a 1-0 loss in Stirling. Stirling tallied just over three minutes into the game, and shutout the Stars the rest of the way. After getting past Lindsay, they could not master the Blues as they lost the series with three straight defeats.
