OSPCA launches iAdopt for the Holidays campaign

Ontario SPCA Lennox and Addington is hoping to give animals in their care the gift of a forever home this Christmas as part of the iAdopt for the Holidays campaign.

Officially launched on Nov. 12, the program is a partnership between the Ontario SPCA and Humane Society.

Sponsored by Petplan, iAdopt for the Holidays is a holiday re-homing mission that runs until Dec. 31 at participating SPCAs, humane societies and rescue groups across Canada to find loving forever homes for as many animals as possible. Last year, close to 3,330 animals from across Canada found their forever homes during the iAdopt for the Holidays campaign.

With many people enjoying time off during the holidays and being home together as a family, now is the perfect time to welcome an animal into a home.

“Every animal deserves to have a special person or family to love and care for them,” says Esther McCutcheon, manager of the Ontario SPCA Lennox & Addington Animal Centre. “iAdopt for the Holidays is all about making lifetime matches.”

Animals adopted through the Ontario SPCA are spayed or neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on vaccinations. Plus, there are prizes to be won during iAdopt for the Holidays. Adopters will be automatically entered for a chance to win the iAdopt grand prize. Those who already have an adopted pet can still visit iadopt.ca to enter Canada’s Cutest Adopted Pet Contest for a chance to win weekly prizes.

Those not in a position to adopt right now, or already have a pet at home, can still help an animal in need by making an online gift. Visit pawsandgive.ca to see symbolic gifts that provide animals with critical care and a comfortable stay while they await adoption.
