On Oct. 30, 2020 at approximately 12 a.m. officers of the Lennox and Addington OPP responded to reported threat involving a weapon in Amherstview.
The investigation revealed that an individual in a vehicle on Murray Place had been threatened with a handgun.
Officers from the L&A County OPP, OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT), OPP Tactics and Rescue (TRU), OPP Canine and L&A County Crime unit participated in the investigation, resulting in an arrest and the seizure of an airsoft replica handgun.
A 27-year-old of Loyalist Township has been charged with:
- Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
- Uttering threats
- Pointing a firearm
- Assault
The accused is further charged with driving while under suspension, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
