OPP pause training to rescue fawn from cliff’s edge
OPP’s Emergency Response Team (ERT) was performing some rappel training on a Deseronto Road rock cut in Lennox and Addington County earlier this month when they were suddenly called into action.
It wasn’t a human in distress however, rather a baby fawn that was stranded on a cliff. ERT officer Matthew Raycroft was able to put his training to use, using the equipment to reach the fawn and deliver it safely back to its mother.
