An inmate death at Napanee’s Quinte Regional Detention Centre has triggered an investigation by the OPP.
Early Monday morning Lennox and Addington Paramedic Services were summoned to the Quinte Regional Detention Centre on Richmond Boulevard in response to a report of an inmate who was found unresponsive inside the facility.
A 31 year-old male inmate was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene.
An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death is ongoing under the direction of Det. Insp. Mary Shannon of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch.
