Ontario’s New Blue Party announces Joyce Reid as candidate for June 2 provincial election

Joyce Reid has been named as Ontario's New Blue Party candidate for the June 2 provincial election.

Ontario’s New Blue Party has named Joyce Reid as their candidate for Hastings-Lennox and Addington for the June 2 provincial election.

Constituents will have a chance to speak with Reid during a meet and greet held April 28 at the Napanee Lion’s Hall, running from 7-9 p.m.

“I am standing up for Ontarians with the New Blue Party in the riding of Hastings-Lennox and Addington,” Reid said in a release. “I live with my husband, Elton and our new pup, Reba on a farm in Eldorado. I have lived in the area since 1976, having grown up in Toronto. My nursing career spanned over 49 years covering emergency, trauma, management, long-term care and corrections. I am the daughter of a WW II veteran, a mother, a grandmother, a mentor and a volunteer.” The New Blue Party was born two years ago. Each candidate completed an application and interview process rather than being appointed. There are currently 119 candidates in the 124 Ontario ridings. The party is led by Jim Karahalios.

“My goal is to bring your voices to Queen’s Park,” said Reid. “I believe in full transparency, and I was raised to be honest and passionate with whatever path I took. We need to end the lockdowns, bring back political accountability, reform our education and healthcare systems. We must allow our economy to grow improving life in Ontario for all. I believe the New Blue Party is the true Conservative Party that can get Ontario back on track. This Blueprint will move our province and the people in the right direction, the right way forward with strength, stability, liberty and a good, solid government. It is time to stand up for ourselves, our children and our principles.”
