The Novice B Crunch had three games over the weekend, turning in strong defense in all three while picking up a draw to go with two close losses. The improvement of this team has been noticed by other coaches after the games.  These girls have never given up all season and continue to get better with every game.

They dropped a 2-0 game to the Durham West Lightning, lost 1-0 to the Kingston Ice Wolves and then tied the Whitby Wolves in a scoreless game with Yakowennare Brant earning the shutout.

-The Peewee BB Crunch tied Kingston Ice Wolves 0-0. Meena Peterson had a great game, earning the shutout.  This clinched first place in the Lower Lakes Female Hockey League East division and a first round bye for the playoffs.

They then played a home and home against the Peterborough Ice Kats this past weekend. In Game 1 in Peterborough, the Crunch won 5-1.  Keyra Herrington was solid in net for the win. Goals were provided by Kristen Sutton (two), Kaylee Brooks, Megan Morsette and Lila Pringle.  Assists by Morsette and Mackenzie Tyner.

Sundays game in Napanee saw the Ice Kats jump out to a 1-0 lead early in the first period. The Crunch kept pressing with plenty of good scoring chances. They never gave up and kept up the pressure creating a turnover at the blueline. After two blocked shots, Megan Morsette was able to bury the puck past the goalie with 12.4 seconds left on the clock, allowing the Crunch to stay undefeated in regular season play. The last regular season game is this Saturday at 4 p.m. in Kingston. Later that same Saturday, they are then hosting the Rome Grizzlies from New York State in an exhibition game at the SPC at 7:30 p.m.
