Atom BB go 1-1-1 at International Silver Stick

The Atom BB Stars competed in the Sarnia International Silver Stick Finals gaining a win, a loss, and a tie in round robin play.  Playing at 8 a.m. the first morning, they fell 3-1 to Whitby. Next, they matched Mount Brydges, a team that made it to Sunday,  in a 1-1 tie. They then routed the Rye Rangers,  a team from north of New York City, 6-2, but it was too little- too late.  They were scheduled to face Stirling last night to open their OMHA playoffs.

– The Joyce’s Meats & Deli Atom AEs also earned a place in their division of the Pelham Silver Stick finals. Playing in Niagara Falls, they were shut out 5-0 by both Whitby and Milton. Regrouping, they defeated Long Island 5-1, which gained them a place in a qualifier with the Midland Centennials. A 2-1 loss ended their quest.

n The Bantam Stars commenced their OMHA playoff series with Lindsay winning 6-2 at the SPC. The boys never trailed as they built up a 4-1 lead in the first period. Six different Stars tallied in the win- Andrew Ruttan, John Hearns, Quinton Pierce, Jack Boutilier, Josh Reid, and Greg Mills.

– The AFW Construction Novice BBs quarter playoffs began with the team defeating Stirling twice on the weekend, 6-3 and 3-0.  Cooper Seaton had two goals while Cam Arthur, Wes Davey, Colton Lockridge and Wyatt Whalen had one each in the 6-3 victory. In the shutout, which was earned by Ethan Sabramsky-Nichol, Colton Lockridge netted a pair and Brock Boutilier tallied once. Their round robin format will include seven teams vying for two playoff spots in the semifinals. The team will next play a home-and-home with each of the other five squads.
