Napanee horse farm owners charged under Animal Welfare Services Act

The owners of a Napanee horse sale, breeding and training facility known as Count Your Blessings Farm have been charged with six counts of animal cruelty.

Ryan Leduc and Amanda Dowdall are due to appear at the Lennox and Addington County courthouse in Napanee on June 7 to answer to charges under the Provincial Animal Welfare Services Act, including permitting an animal to be in distress, failure to comply with the prescribed standards for care of horses, failure to comply with an order served on July 6, 2022, knowingly or recklessly causing an animal to be exposed to undue risk of distress, failure to provide a proper pen or other enclosed structure or area and failure to produce any animal or thing required by the inspector in the course of the inspection.
