Napanee council to talk budget at special session meeting March 19 at 8 a.m.

Greater Napanee council could adopt their 2020 operating and capital budget at a special meeting on March 19, which begins at 8 a.m.

Council selected that date and time during Tuesday’s regular council meeting. The reasoning for the unusual start time was due to scheduling conflicts among the council members-March 19 was the only time all members of council would be able to meet for the foreseeable future. Also on the agenda for the special session will be a review of draft discipline policy, staff code of ethics policy and cell phone taxable benefits policy.

A portion of the meeting will be closed session as council discusses non-union employment negotiations, union labour relations and matters relating to identifiable individuals. The budget discussion part of the meeting will be open to the public. Council will then vote as to whether or not they wish to adopt the budget.

The special session meeting on March 19 will take place at Greater Napanee’s town hall.
