NDSS’ girls hockey team is OFSAA bound after winning all three of their EOSSAA games yesterday their home ice at the SPC.

Napanee scored a combined 20 goals over the three games while goalie Makenna Marlow turned in three straight shutouts. The win means Napanee will now represent Eastern Ontario at the provincial champions, which will take place March 24-26 in Stratford. Last week the girls captured their second straight KASSAA title with a 5-2 win over Frontenac in a game played at Kingston’s Invista Centre.

NDSS’ boys team was also taking part in an EOSSAA tournament yesterday, though theirs was played in Renfrew. Though they too reached the finals, they were defeated in heart-breaking fashion, losing 2-1 in overtime to the now three time reigning champion St. Joseph’s Jaguars, who was playing on home ice.

Napanee defeated KCVI 3-2 in the semifinals earlier in the tournament, as well as defeated their first opponent 6-3.

The overtime loss ended a still extremely successful season for the boys.
