Napanee alumni roster set to take on Canadiens alumni

Visit the Contact Us section on the Beaver's home page for a chance to win a pair of tickets to the Canadiens and Raiders alumni game on Nov. 9.

Rosters are now set for the alumni hockey game between the Montreal Canadiens and the Napanee Raiders, which takes place Nov. 9 at 7:30 p.m. at the Strathcona Paper Centre.

Suiting up for the Habs alumni will be the likes of Keith Acton, Chris Nilan, Jocelyn Lemieux, Patrice Brisebois, Arron Asham, John Scott and Richard Sevigny.

Representing the home team will be former Raiders Ben Chadwick, Scott Barker, Jeff Foster, Jason Hogle, Aaron Uens, Mike Hartwick, Mike Casselman, Andrew Isbester, Mike Airhart, Rob Galt and a reuniting of the infamous 1992-’93 ‘kid line’ of Andrew Hart, Ryan Moore and Jason Sutton.

“We’ve put together a team that is a good cross section and representation of the Napanee Raiders,” said Chuck Airhart, an event organizer from the Greater Napanee Sports Association. “We tried to get as many of the 1992-93 players as we could.”

General admission tickets are $25 each or $15 for kids under 12. They’re available at Canadian Tire, Gray’s IDA, the SPC, Home Hardware, Pringle Ford, McDougall Insurance and Financial, BMO Bank of Montreal, Scotiabank and RBC Royal Bank.

Readers of the Napanee Beaver will have a chance to win one of two pairs of tickets to the game. Online ballots can be found by visiting the Contact Us section at the bottom of this page or clicking the link below to fill out a draw ballot. The draw will be held Nov. 7.

Along with the game, the Napanee District Community Foundation is also hosting an online auction, with a chance to bid on the opportunity to play for the Canadiens during the game, which comes with a personalized jersey. There is also a auction for the opportunity to be an assistant coach for the Canadiens Alumni team, as well as a Montreal Canadiens signed by a number of the team’s legends, including Guy Lafleur. To bid, go to www.ndcf.ca.

Proceeds from the game will go to the Greater Napanee Sports Association.
