Museum to host outdoor holiday celebration Dec. 13

NorthFIRE is scheduled to perform at the Museum and Archives on Dec. 13.

After a two-year hiatus, the Museum of Lennox & Addington’s Tuesday Night at the Museum holiday event is back, but this time, it’s all about the great outdoors.

Known as A Winter’s Eve Light: An Outdoor Celebration of Lights & Nature, the event takes place on Tuesday, Dec. 13 from 6–8 p.m. on the museum grounds.

This event is packed full of performances and activities for families to enjoy. The big event feature is NorthFIRE Circus Arts, a group of highly skilled variety circus performers specializing in fire hoops, acrobatics, and exceptional pyrotechnics. Canada’s best electronic violin player, Dr. Draw, will also take the stage. Three repeat performances will take place from 6:15 – 6:30 p.m., 7– 7:15 p.m., and 7:45 – 8 p.m.

Between performances, magical winter characters will be roaming the museum grounds for visitors to interact with. Visitors are encouraged to take part in other activities once they have seen a performance to ensure that everyone gets a chance to see the spectacular fire show. The museum courtyard will be fully decorated for the season, complete with reindeer from Sherwood’s Reindeer Farm that people can have a visit with.

The museum will also be open to give visitors a chance to warm up and enjoy the galleries. Django’s Kitchen will be performing in the program room, and guests may even spot Santa. This is also a great time to get some holiday shopping done. The retail area is filled with books, puzzles, games, and stocking stuffers to cross some items off a holiday shopping list.
No pre-registration is required to attend this event, and it is free for all to attend. The Museum of Lennox & Addington is located at 97 Thomas Street East in Napanee. For more information about this event, please call 613-354-3027 or visit www.CountyMuseum.ca.
