MASSEY, Agnes Joan
December 22, 1934 – November 19, 2023
Joan passed away peacefully in her own home surrounded by familiar comforts. In the weeks proceeding her death, many lovingly cared for her so she could remain at peace in her home. Her daughters Debbie, Beth, Linda, and good friend Wendy spent time caring for her. The amazing healthcare team consisting of BobbieJo, Shannon, Kylah, Curtis, and Dr. Koester provided exemplary care. So many loved and looked over Joan. Her wonderful neighbours Betty Hamilton, Sylvia and Gibby, and other surrounding neighbours worked together over the years to keep her safe and comfortable. She maintained many friendships with her past coworkers and they went above and beyond to include Joan in their monthly luncheons.
Mother of Debbie, Beth (Pete), Linda (Clarence) Massey. Grandmother of Catherine (Freddy), Matthew (Cheyenne) and Sydney (Brandon). Dear sister of Sandy (Brenda) and the late Sylvie. Aunt of Sandra, Sue, Charlene, Sean, Connie, Tanya , Anne-Louise and John. She was the daughter of the late Netti and Leslie Campbell.
In the weeks leading up to Joan’s passing she would talk to her dear friend Myda who predeceased her. These moments would bring her great comfort and peace. Joan would ask that you would sit and listen to her sing “What a Friend We Have In Jesus” and she did this right up until her passing.
Aquamation has taken place. The family will be receiving friends at the Wartman Funeral Home, Napanee on Saturday, November 25th, 2023 from 12-3 pm. Donations in memory of Joan made to the SPCA- Lennox and Addington Animal Care Centre would be appreciated by her family.
