The Napanee AFW Construction Atom BBs won it all at the Northumberland Silver Stick Regional Tournament held in Cobourg on the weekend. They won 3-2 in the final, in double-overtime, thanks to a goal by Colton Lockridge.  In the final, they faced Whitby, a talented squad who had given them a serious challenge in the round robin, in a game Napanee won 3-2.  Leading 1-0 on a goal by Cooper Seaton, they gave up a goal on a penalty shot. With time winding down in the third, Whitby scored, but Ben Kerr tied things up at two goals each with 20 seconds left. Playing 3-on-3 in overtime, they went into the second overtime period before Lockridge netted the winner.

Earlier, in their impressive run, they had shut out Ajax 5-0, outscored Kingston 5-3, and earned a 6-0 shutout over Ajax in the semifinal.  Since there is no BB Silver Stick division, the team had to play up in this A tournament, and with fine success. The Silver Stick Finals are in Sarnia starting Jan. 17.

-The Napanee Windoorman Midget BBs were sharp in the Midland Regional Silver Stick winning two of three matches, while also having to play up in the A division. After a 6-1 loss to Halton Hills, they defeated Barrie 3-1, and New Hamburg 3-0 in this 12 team grouping.

In league play, the Calderwood Automation Bantam BBs gave another solid performance to defeat Norwood 7-2.  Jack Osborne and Daniel Chase tallied in the first, but their guests replied on the power play with 6.5 second left in that frame. Jake Wood got a pair in the second- one right along the ice, and the other a rebound of a Spencer Cranley shot off the crossbar. Luc Amat, Jayden Holden, and Cranley rounded out the scoring. Sunday in Campbellford they rolled over their hosts 7-1. Cranley had a hat trick, while Chase, Wood, Osborne, and Holden also found the back of the net.

-The Country Butcher Shop Peewees found themselves down 3-1 to Bancroft in the early going, but showed their skill to rebound for a 6-4 win. Dylan Kemp scored a hat trick, Mason Goodfellow chipped in a pair, while Tie Wood also scored. Sunday, they edged Frontenac 5-4. Kemp (two), Scott Scrimshaw, Mitchel Turner, and Goodfellow did the damage for the locals.

-The Napanee Canadian Tire Peewee AEs got off to a good start hosting Gananoque, with excellent point shots by Coulson South and Tivon James to make it 2-0, but they fell 6-2 to their guests.

-The Conger Plumbing Atom AEs were shut out 8-0 in Gananoque on Saturday, and lost 9-2 hosting Bancroft on Sunday. Jacob Lyons and Aiden Lollar scored for the Stars, and Landon Hillier earned an assist on the second goal.
