The Napanee Bantam BB Crunch won the Kitchener Lady Rangers Fall Fest tournament this weekend.

Game 1 was a 2-0 win over the Windsor Wildcats.  Aleaha Mallette earned the shutout and goals were scored by Kristen Sutton and Lila Pringle.  Game 2 was a 2-0 win over the highly ranked Nepean Wildcats.  Keyra Herrington made 27 saves for the shutout.  Kristen Sutton scored the opener and then added an empty netter to seal the deal.  Game 3 saw the Crunch beat the host, Kitchener Lady Rangers, 2-0.  Morgan Hennessey scored 15 seconds into the game and then tipped in a nice goal late in the third period.  Game 4 was a lop sided 3-0 win over the Central York Panthers.  The Crunch outshot them, 38-3.  This put them in first in the round robin and a ticket punched for Sunday. They beat the Mount Forest Rams 2-1 in a shootout.  Mallette had several nice saves to hold the Rams to a lone goal. The final was a rematch with the Nepean Wildcats. Taryn Landine picked off a pass in the neutral zone and skated in and buried the puck over the glove of the goalie to go up 1-0.  The Wildcats took a timeout and came storming out and got a breakaway of their own, squeaking one in to tie it. Neither team would budge through regulation and the 3-on-3 overtime, setting up another shootout.  Lila Pringle took the first shot for the Crunch and buried the puck past the goalie on a nice deke.  Herrington stopped the first Wildcat shooter. The second Napanee shooter missed the net, while the Wildcats knotted up the shootout on a nice deke.  Abby Birdsell put the Crunch back on top with a beautiful goal, setting up a must stop for Herrington.  The Wildcat shooter tried to deke and go high glove, but Herrington slid over and snagged it out of the air, setting off the celebration from her team.
