In a heartwarming display of community spirit and festive generosity, Touch of Wellness Aveda Spa, led by Joanne McCormick, hosted a special Christmas event for 15 women and their children currently residing at L&A Interval House.

The event, which took place at the Napanee Legion on Tuesday with Legion president Peggy Sunstrum waiving the rental fee, was a testament to the power of local businesses making a positive impact on the community. Each woman was gifted an Aveda gift set, valued at $100. Adding a personal touch, McCormick also arranged for unique Christmas tree ornaments, specifically designed for each lady.

The atmosphere was filled with the rich, comforting aroma of hot chocolate, with Corina Starbuck and Connie Pritchard engaging the children in festive cookie decorating activities. This allowed spa coordinator Gia Wedlock to spend time with the mothers, explaining the benefits and uses of the products in their holiday gift sets.

Gordie, a therapy dog, accompanied by owner Michelle Stolnick, also paid a visit, provided much needed comfort and love.

“It’s more than just a spa event,” said McCormick. “It’s about showing these wonderful women and children that they are not alone, that their community cares and that the spirit of Christmas is alive and well in Napanee.”
