Members of the Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario (ETFO) Limestone local will participate in a one-day strike tomorrow, January 29.
According to a press release from ETFO, the federation tabled revised proposals for: smaller classes where students get the help they need; more resources for students with special needs; protection of Ontario’s Kindergarten program; and fair compensation for educators.
In November, 98% of ETFO members gave their union a mandate for central strike action should it be needed during ETFO’s central bargaining negotiations. Collective agreements for all ETFO members expired on August 31, 2019.
