Napanee’s Lansing Gifts and Gallery in Downtown Napanee is once again hosting a shoe drive for students in the community.

They’re encouraging members of the public to drop off new shoes in all sizes to their location at 3 Dundas Street E.

“It could change a kid’s life,” said Lorrie McPeake, store manager. “With confidence comes a higher chance of being successful. With a pair of new shoes it would give them that extra bit of confidence, and then they could do sports. Just my feeling is that it would make them feel better about themselves and maybe they would be more successful too and it would help them give them that drive.”

As the costs of everyday items continues to rise, more parents than ever find themselves struggling to make ends meet. Any bit of help with back-to-school supplies could make a major positive impact.

Shoes can be dropped off between 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and they will be distributed to local schools when classes resume next week.
