Saturday night will once again be hockey night in Deseronto this fall and winter as the Deseronto Bulldogs return for their fourth season of Eastern Ontario Super Hockey League action.

The Senior A club announced its home schedule, starting with a Sept. 30 date against the Tweed Oil Kings.

On Oct. 14 they welcome the Gananoque Islanders while on Nov. 4 they get their first look at one of the new clubs that have joined for the 2023-24 season, the Barry’s Bay Wolves.

On Nov. 18 they host the Frontenac Phantoms, Nov. 25 they face the Smith Falls Rideaus and on Dec. 16 they welcome back the Phantoms.

They’ll close out the calendar year and open it against the expansion Centre Hastings Ice Miners, on Dec. 23 and again on Jan. 6. On Jan 20 they’ll welcome the Wolves before wrapping up the home season against the Islanders.

All games feature 6 p.m. warm-ups with pucks drops at 6:30 p.m., taking place at the Deseronto Community Rec Centre.

Prior to the regular season, they’ll host a special Labour Day pre-season game at Napanee’s Strathcona Paper Centre, facing off against the Frontenac Phantoms. Puck drop is 3:30 p.m. on Sept. 4.

The Bulldogs are coming off a season that saw them go 10-10 in the regular season, their best finish to date. They lost a one game wild card showdown against the Arnprior Rivermen.

In league news, the EOSHL announced this season would be going ahead with 15 instead of the originally scheduled 16. The Pontiac Comets withdrew from the league.
