O Tribute Tree, O Tribute Tree, how lovely are thy branches that stand tall in the foyer of Lennox and Addington County General Hospital.

Those branches once again are adorned with ornaments that carry the name of someone special to the donor. For a minimum $10 donation, an ornament can be added to the tree-either an angel in memory of a loved on that’s passed on or a snowflake in tribute of someone special.

“The tribute tree at the hospital is the foundation’s largest annual appeal and we run it from Nov. 1 to Dec. 1,” said LACGH foundation fundraising chair Kelly Schermerhorn. “The tribute tree first began in 2008 and has raised anywhere between $22,000 to $37,000 (in a given year) for the hospital. Those funds are put into the foundation’s general medical fund which then allows the hospital to use where there is the greatest need.”

Ornaments can be purchased online at www. lacghfoundation.com/contact-us/ or by calling 613-354-3301 ext. 400.

Last year was a record setting year for the tree as 521 ornaments were hung from its branches. Schermerhorn hopes they can top that amount this year.

Schermerhorn says the hospital thanks the community, staff and volunteers for making the tree possible again this year.
