LACGH reminds residents to visit ER for emergencies, call family doctor for non-urgent care

Beaver Staff

Lennox and Addington County General Hospital’s Emergency Room remains open for critical and life-threatening conditions.

Anyone in need of emergency care is reminded to still call 9-1-1 or come to the ER if they or someone they know are experiencing a serious medical event.

For non-emergency medical care, most family doctors remain open and are seeing patients virtually or over the telephone. LACGH encourages patients to contact their family doctors for non-life threatening urgent care needs. Those without access to a family doctor can call the ER Department at 613-354-8247 or 1-833-354-3301 to speak to a member of the health care team. They’re also asked to call that number prior to arriving at the hospital, unless it’s an emergency, in which case they can come to the ER immediately.

Anyone looking for prescription refills is to call a pharmacist.
