LACGH announces temporary change to entrance of lower-level main clinic area

On July 31 the Lennox and Addington County General Hospital (LACGH) lower-level clinic entry doors temporarily changed from the clinic entrance by the cafeteria courtyard to the “E0” entrance facing Bridge St. near the caged medical gas tanks.

This temporary change is to accommodate the excavation and construction of first foundation of the new long-term care (LTC) home. The foundation poured during this time is in the area that will link the hospital to the new LTC home. Construction affecting the clinic entrance is expected to conclude within a few months. People who have appointments for mammography, bone mineral densitometry, physiotherapy, cardiac rehab, or surgical clinic will need to use the alternate entrance until the conclusion of the construction. Volunteers and staff will be in the area to assist with wayfinding during appointment times.

The temporary lower-level clinic entrance is identified as entrance “E0” and has a yellow “lower level clinic” sign on the clear glass door. When you come through door “E0” you will see a set of stairs to your right and a door with a black “E” on your left. The door on your left, which will have a yellow “lower level clinic” sign, is the door patients will use to access the lower-level clinic space. Staff will be in the area to assist with wayfinding during appointment times. Patient-designated parking for the lower-level clinic has recently been increased to six. These six spaces are now easier to identify with refreshed patient parking signage. Parking for patients, visitors and caregivers is also available at the Hospital’s Westdale Campus (12 Richmond Park. Dr.) should the main parking lot be full.

“In advance of all of the construction work ahead, thank you for your understanding, adaptability, and support. We will make every effort to minimize impacts to the public and hospital operations during the development of the new long-term care home and we look forward to the successful completion of the development project.” Ak Sharma, Director, Capital Planning & Facilities Management.
