L&A Libraries remain open during province’s Modified Stage 2

With the proliferation of COVID-19 cases and the subsequent shuttering of many businesses, there are some who may be wondering whether the Lennox and Addington Libraries remain open, and if so, in what capacity.

Catherine Coles, Manager of Library Services for L&A Libraries shed some light on this, with the caveat that the situation is ever changing. Should multiple staff members fall ill, the libraries are prepared to pivot their services or, if necessary, close.

The following list details the current hours for all L&A Libraries along with any restrictions in place:

  • All branches of the L&A Libraries are currently open regular hours for in-person browsing and computer use
  • Capacity is limited to 50 per cent
  • Patrons must self-screen upon entry. Masking is required for anyone older than age two
  • Curbside service is available for those who would prefer not to enter the library
  • All in-person programs have been cancelled, but the libraries offer a variety of programs via Zoom. A listing of programs can be found at https://countylibrary.ca/events/
  • To ensure safe distancing, staff may be unable to provide hands-on computer or tech support as they might normally
  • Library staff continue to offer free printing of proof of vaccination / QR codes
  • Meeting space is unavailable at this time and library staff are encouraging shorter library visits

The public is reminded that, for the most up to date information regarding library services and hours, it is best to visit their website: CountyLibrary.ca
