Kramp-Neuman named to committee to help select Conservative Party’s next leader

Hastings-Lennox and Addington MP Shelby Kramp-Neuman

Hastings-Lennox and Addington MP Shelby Kramp-Neuman has been appointed to the Conservative Party of Canada’s Leadership Election Organizing Committee (LEOC) which sets the rules and regulations that govern the ongoing Conservative leadership race.

“Recently, I was asked to serve on the Conservative Party of Canada’s Election Organizing Committee (LEOC). As the only sitting Member of Parliament on LEOC, I was thrilled and honoured to accept the position. I want to take this opportunity to thank my predecessor, Eric Duncan (Stormont-Dundas-South Glengarry) for his hard work with LEOC,” Kramp-Neuman said in a release. “The role of LEOC will continue to evolve as the leadership race progresses. As a result of this continued work, I will be remaining neutral for the entirety of the leadership race as mandated by section 6.2 of the constitution of the Conservative Party of Canada. I am eager to continue to serve the Party, its members, and caucus in this important role, and look forward to working with the next Prime Minister of Canada in September.”
