Hastings-Lennox and Addington MP Shelby Kramp-Neuman has been appointed to the role of Associate Shadow Minister of National Defence.

Kramp-Neuman was among 71 Conservative MPs to be assigned new roles by party leader Pierre Poilievre on Wednesday. Previously, the local MP held the title of Shadow Minister for Seniors, having been appointed to the role in November of last year.

Kramp-Neuman issued the following statement in regards to Wednesday’s announcement.

“I want to thank our leader, the Honourable Pierre Poilievre for the opportunity to serve Canadians in my new position as Associate Shadow Minister for National Defence. Canada’s Conservatives have a proud history and tradition of supporting our Canadian Armed Forces Members by ensuring they have the tools and support they need to carry out their massively important work both domestically and abroad. I look forward to working with the Shadow Minister for National Defence, James Bezan, on this extremely important file. I want to thank my colleague Frank Caputo for his dedication to this role and I hope to continue his diligent work. I also want to congratulate incoming Shadow Minister for Seniors, MP Anna Roberts. I know Canada’s seniors are in great hands.”
