The Knitting Elves had another successful year in 2023, raising $4,465 for the Tamworth Lions Club, while donating mittens, hats and scarves along with 135 gift cards for Christmas hampers. The volunteer group is once again seeking donations of yarn as well as any new members who will be willing to donate their time and knitting or crochet skills to make winter clothing for the cause. The club meets once a year in October at the Newburgh Community Hall, where the knitted clothing is gathered to be put into Christmas hampers. Pick up can also be arranged to collect the items.
