Local children will be invited to wet a line and have some fun at the Tamworth and District Lions Club Kids Fishing Day this Saturday.
The event takes place at the Lions Club Park at Beaver Lake, just off County Road 41 near the Lakeview Tavern in Erinsville.
This is the eighth straight year the club has hosted the event, in partnership with the Ontario Police Association. It begins at 9:30 a.m. and wraps up around noon.
Young anglers are asked to bring their own fishing rods, although the Lions Club will provide the worms. The club will also hand out door prizes, and host a barbecue as well.
The event overlaps with Quinte Conservation’s ‘Wild about Wildlife’ event, which takes place at the park on the same day.
