Interval House celebrates official opening of Youth In Transition housing program

Lennox and Addington Interval House executive director Sue Weir and Lennox and Addington County CAO Brenda Orchard hold the ribbon for Greater Napanee mayor Marg Isbester (centre) to cut last Friday, signally the officially opening of Interval House’s Youth In Transition Housing Program, located in downtown Napanee. The six-unit building will provide temporary residence for vulnerable youth while helping them find permanent housing. “So often we try to say it’s not our responsibility, it’s another level of government,” said Isbester. “It’s everybody responsibility. This stuff works because grass roots gets together. You have to be just a little bit cantankerous, obstinate, argumentative and Sue fits all of those.” Photo by Adam Prudhomme.
