On March 25, shortly after 2 p.m., officers from the L&A County OPP received a report of a heavy tow truck that was pulling a concrete pump truck had left the road and was in the ditch.
The incident occurred on Hwy 401 westbound at mile marker 548 between the Cannifton Road/Highway 37 exit and the Shannonville Road exit. Police attended the scene and Paramedic Services were already there attending to the heavy tow driver who sustained minor injuries.
The heavy tow had hit the shoulder and ended up in the north ditch. The heavy tow flipped on its side and was still connected to the concrete pump truck. The recovery of the vehicles will occur Saturday, March 30 starting at 10 p.m. At that time there will be a lane closure of the driving lane to accommodate the recovery so expect minor delays until crews clear the area.
