The NDSS boys’ hockey team’s season came to an end Monday with a 5-1 loss to the Holy Cross Crusaders in the KASSAA semifinals, held at the Invista Centre.

Carter McKee had Napanee’s lone goal.

Napanee entered the playoffs as the third seed after going 6-3 in the regular season.

They had hoped to join their girls’ counterparts in earning a spot in the KASSAA hockey finals, which are set to take place Wednesday, once again at the Invista Centre.

The lady Hawks will look to bring home the KASSAA title when they face-off against Holy Cross, starting at 12:30 p.m.

-Fresh off their KASSAA title last week, the NDSS junior girls’ volleyball team is set to host EOSSAA tomorrow inside the gym at NDSS.

Napanee is the top seed in the six-team tournament. They’ll kick off the action with a 10 a.m. game against Cornwall. At 11 a.m. they’re right back on the court to take on Perth.

The top four teams will advance to the semifinals at 1:30 p.m. with the championship game set for 3 p.m.

All of that is weather permitting, with heavy snow in the forecast. If needed, the EOSSAA tournament would be pushed back to Wednesday.
