There will be no shortage of star power in the visitors’ lineup when the Montreal Canadiens Alumni team comes to Napanee’s Strathcona Paper Centre on Nov. 9.

The Canadiens Alumni tour submitted the list of players scheduled to take the ice that night, which is headlined by the likes of Keith Acton (584 points in 1023 games), Jocelyn Lemieux (164 points in 598 games), Patrice Brisebois (420 points in 1009 games as a defenceman), Chris Nilan (3043 penalty minutes, 225 points in 688 games) and 2016 NHL All-Star Game MVP John Scott.

A tough guy with just five career goals, Scott made headlines when fans overwhelmingly voted him into the 2016 all-star game. Despite not even being on an NHL roster at the time, he led his team to a win in the game.

Between the pipes will be Richard Sevigny, who posted a career record of 80-54-20 with a 3.21 GAA. He has the distinction of having his name engraved on the Stanley Cup in 1979 despite never playing in an NHL game. He served as the team’s backup when starting goalie Michel Larocque was injured in warm up prior to Game 2. In the 1980-81 season he helped earn the Vezina Trophy, along with teammates Larocque and Denis Herron. Contrary to today when the trophy is awarded to just one goalie, back then the trophy was presented to the team that allowed the fewest goals in a season.

The roster is rounded out with Stanley Cup winners, prolific goal scorers and notorious tough guys spanning several decades of the Canadiens historic tenure. Also scheduled to take on Napanee will be Oleg Petrov, Normand Dupont, Arron Asham, Ric Nattress and Gilbert Delorme.

The Habs legends will face-off against alumni from the 1993 Schmalz Cup champion Napanee Raiders, with proceeds going towards the Napanee District Community Foundation.

Tickets for the Nov. 9 game, which gets underway at 7:30 p.m. are available for $25 general admission, $15 for youth 12 and under and $75 for VIP. They’re on sale now at Napanee Canadian Tire, NDCF offices at 47 Dundas Street E and Mike Bossio’s constituency office at 20-B Richmond Blvd.
