Greater Napanee lacking Christmas events

I am writing to express my growing disappointment in the lack of special events the Town of Napanee offers to residents.

I recently searched Christmas events in Napanee, and found that except for inviting everyone to see the lights downtown, which, is an amazing sight, anything else you have to go to Belleville, Kingston, Stirling, Trenton, anywhere but Napanee
This wasn’t the case, growing up in Napanee, there were many events for families to participate in.  Town Hall brought in a tree, and the town came together to decorate.  There were carollers and music lyric sheets were handed out so everyone could sing along, vendors roasted chestnuts, there was hot chocolate, it brought the whole community together. Now we don’t even have the Town Hall because our town council decided to move outside of downtown.
Previous council had brought in a tree that, on occasion when it worked, would play Christmas music, the problem was, it seldom worked, and at least not anytime I went past it.
What I would like to see with the new council, being that it is too late for this year, is to make sure Christmas in Napanee is an event for the entire family.  The lights downtown are great, but there needs to be more.
