A full night closure of the Quinte Skyway Bridge originally scheduled for Aug. 17 has been pushed back to Aug. 24 as a result of poor weather conditions.

There will now be a Full Mainline Night Closure of Hwy 49 at the Bay of Quinte Skyway Bridge from 9 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 24 to 6 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 25. In case of continued poor weather conditions during the upcoming weeks, the closure may be rescheduled to take place from 9 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 28 to 6 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 29.

This closure is intended for the implementation of staging configuration for Segment A Stage 2 work, which will consist of relocating temporary concrete barriers, temporary energy attenuators, placing temporary pavement markings, and flipping traffic to the east side of the bridge.

During these time periods the highway will be closed, and no traffic will be permitted to pass over the bridge. Please refer to the following website for the Glenora Ferry as an alternative route: http://www.mto.gov.on.ca/english/ontario-511/ferries.shtml. Emergency Services are kindly requested to follow the protocol outlined with GIP should they be required to cross the bridge during these times.
