A handful of opportunities are now available for local tourism-based businesses looking for a boost ahead of the busy season.

The COVID-19 Tourism Adaptation Fund is open for applications from L&A County tourism-based businesses in the RTO 9 Tourism Region (Greater Napanee, Loyalist, Stone Mills). Successful applicants are eligible for a non-repayable grant of up to $20,000 (excluding HST) through the COVID-19 Tourism Adaptation Fund. Visit https://tourismtalk.ca/partnerships/partnership-funding/covid-19-tourism-adaptation-fund/ for eligibility requirements and to apply.

The Tourism Recovery and Innovation Plan (TRIP) is open to Addington Highlands tourism-based businesses for capital projects. This program offers funding of up to 80 per cent of eligible capital expenses to a maximum of $20,000 in non-repayable funding. For more information, visit https://onhighlandstourism.smapply.io/.

Both programs are available through FedDev.

Along with funding opportunities, there’s also an upcoming web seminar that could provide valuable information of particular interest to tourism business owners in the region. On April 21 RTO9 will be hosting a virtual presentation and moderated discussion on consumer demand for South Eastern Ontario vacation experiences and market profiles based on a recent consumer research study completed for the region. The session includes a presentation of findings specific to L&A County. To register, visit https://global.gotomeeting.com/join/335440333.
