Express split Thursday games, remain in first heading into Friday’s action

The Napanee AFW Express suffered their first defeat of the U20 Canadians on Thursday, falling 5-4 to the Rostock Braves.

In the evening game they responded in a big way, 0utslugging the Saskatoon Selects 18-0. Only the rain could slow the Express at-bats in that one, as both teams endured a slight weather delay as a storm rolled through the fairgrounds.

Napanee is now 5-1 at the tournament, sitting in first place as they head into the final day of round robin play.

The Express have just one game on the schedule today, taking on Quebec at 7 p.m.

The playoff round gets underway Saturday. The medal games will go on Sunday, with the bronze medal game at 11 a.m. and the winner of that game advancing to the gold medal game at 2 p.m.

Weekend passes for the remaining tournament are available as of today for $30. That price gets admission for all of the Friday, Saturday, and Sunday games.
