Driver faces several charges after colliding with OPP cruiser

Lennox and Addington OPP have laid several charges after a traffic complaint led to a driver ramming an OPP cruiser on Hwy 49 in Tyendinaga Township early Friday morning.

The driver was located on Hwy 49 around 1:30 a.m. and was observed driving in an erratic manner. The driver was stopped with the assistance of a second cruiser,  colliding with the responding officer’s vehicle.

A-30-year old man of Prince Edward County was charged with dangerous operation, impaired operation, driving with cannabis readily available, possessing unmarked cigarettes and operating a motor vehicle without insurance.

The accused faces a licence suspension for 90 days, vehicle impound for seven days, and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Napanee at a later date.
