Driver charged with impaired, dangerous operation after passenger calls police

On March 23 at approximately 9:15 p.m., officers of the Lennox and Addington OPP responded to a traffic complaint, eastbound on Hwy 401 in Greater Napanee. A passenger in the vehicle reported that the vehicle was being driven erratically.

Officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. Officers determined that the driver was showing signs of impairment and they were subsequently arrested and transported to the L&A County Detachment for further processing.

As a result L&A County OPP have charged a 51-year-old of Scarborough with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs;
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus); and
  • Dangerous operation.

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on April 12, 2022. The accused’s licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
