Community Street Crime Unit executes search warrant in Greater Napanee, seize suspected cocaine and fentanyl

On Feb. 4, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) East Region Community Street Crime Unit, assisted by the OPP Tactics and Rescue unit (TRU), OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) and the L&A County OPP, executed a search warrant at a residence in Greater Napanee. Police arrested two people at the scene and seized a quantity of illegal drugs along with a replica firearm.

Police seized suspected cocaine and fentanyl along with nearly $1,400 dollars in Canadian currency and drug paraphernalia.

As a result of the investigation police have charged,

A 40-year-old of Greater Napanee contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substance Act with:

  • Two counts of possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking

A 21-year-old of Ajax with

  • Two counts of possession of a Schedule I cubstance for the purpose of trafficking-
  • Resist police officer

Both accused are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on March 23.
