Charges laid in connection to March 24 bus arson in Amherstview

Napanee OPP detectives have charged six Loyalist Township youths in relation to an arson investigation in Amherstview.

On March 24 officers with the Loyalist Detachment of the OPP and Loyalist Township Fire Department responded to a report of an empty school bus on fire at the Fairfield Elementary School.

 The school bus was completely destroyed and total damage to the bus and pavement, including clean-up was estimated at over $120,000.

 All six youths were charged with arson and two counts of mischief over $5,000. 

 Detectives are appealing to the public for further information relating to this investigation including anyone who may have video footage from the scene.
