Chamber accepting questions ahead of Sept. 7 all-candidates meeting

With the 2021 federal election advanced polling happening Sept. 10, the Napanee & District Chamber of Commerce (NDCC) is working with their elections subcommittee to run a hybrid event that the businesses and community members in Lennox and Addington can be involved in.

This year’s Federal Election Event will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2021 at the Napanee Lions Hall, beginning at 7 p.m., doors open at 6:30 p.m. This hybrid approach will allow for a limited number of people (due to COVID restrictions) to be in attendance the night of (first come, first serve) and the rest to watch online on Facebook through the Chamber’s page and local radio station MyFM 88.7 page at their convenience.

“This is a very important election during a time of a global pandemic. A serious, bold strategy to grow our economy is the only way forward for our local businesses, and all who reside in Lennox & Addington. Each of us as voters has the right to know where the parties stand before we go to the polls,” states Business Manager Megan Sands.

All registered candidates have been invited. In the candidate’s letter invite, the NDCC strongly encouraged all candidates to look at the What It Takes to Grow formula that is in collaboration with the Canadian Chamber of Commerce. This formula for growth has three distinct phases: 1) Finishing the fight against COVID 2) Getting the fundamentals right 3) Creating 21st century opportunities

Those who wish to submit a question for the candidates can do so before 12 noon on Sept. 7. Submissions can be sent to businessmanager@napaneechamber.ca. Please note that with limited time that not all questions will be asked. -3
