Car collides with house on County Rd. 8, passenger suffers serious injuries

A passenger was taken to hospital with serious injuries on Sunday after the vehicle they were in was driven into the side of a home on County Road 8 in Greater Napanee.

Around 10:30 p.m. officers of the L&A County OPP responded to a report of a motor vehicle that had collided with a residence. Police arrived on scene and observed the vehicle resting against the residence. The driver was arrested for impaired driving and the 22-year-old passenger was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

As a result of the investigation, L&A County OPP has a 21-year-old man of Loyalist Township with

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation causing bodily harm
  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand – bodily harm

The accused was further charged under the Highway Traffic Act with driving while under suspension.

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on July 7. The accused person’s licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
