Blood clinic at SPC this Friday

Close to 100 open appointments remain for Friday’s Canadian Blood Services donor clinic, which will be held 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Strathcona Paper Centre.

That’s troubling for organizers who are concerned they may fall short of their goal. In addition, less than half the pre-book appointments are full as well.

Organizers are hoping those numbers will start to rise ahead of Friday’s clinic as they are in great need of blood this time of year. As with every winter, the weather conditions lead to an increase in the number and severity of car accidents.

Coming off two successful Napanee clinics, organizers are hoping residents will once again roll up their sleeves. Volunteers for Friday’s clinic will be from the Masons Union and Victoria Lodges.
