Bath’s Tyler Ignazzitto commits to Div III Albertus Magnus hockey team

Former Napanee Raider Tod Division rookie of the year and Bath native Tyler Ignazzitto has committed to NCAA Division III Albertus Magnus.

The 21-year-old will be headed to New Haven, Connecticut in the fall to study Health Science while also skating for the Falcons’ hockey team.

Ignazzitto joined the Wellington Dukes ahead of the 2020-21 season, but the season was limited to exhibition games due to the pandemic. His last regular season action was split between the Trenton Golden Hawks and Collingwood Colts of the Ontario Junior Hockey League.

He made his junior debut in 2016, when he burst onto the scene as a member of the Junior C Napanee Raiders. Playing in 38 games, he scored 18 goals with 26 assists on his way to rookie of the year honours. He returned the following year to Napanee, adding 25 goals and 26 assists in 25 games. He also skated in two games with the Kingston Voyageurs for two games that year, picking up a goal. He was an offensive force in the playoffs for Napanee in 2018, scoring six goals with two assists in seven games.
