The United Restaurant/Allegiance General Contracting Atom B Crunch captured the gold medal at the Halloween Havoc tournament in Cobourg this past weekend. They went 3-1 in the round robin, beating Carleton Place C, 7-0, and then beating Carleton Place B, 1-0, and beating a feisty Stoney Creek Sabres team, 3-2 before losing 2-1 to the Oshawa Lady Generals. This setup a rematch with the Carleton Place Cyclones B team which saw the Crunch hold on for a 1-0 victory. They had another rematch with the Oshawa Lady Generals to go for gold. The Crunch won the game 1-0 on a goal by Claire Clapp assisted by Kailee Jacklin and Micarra Cochrane.

-The Napanee Peewee BB Crunch also skated away with a gold medal from the prestigious Halloween Havoc Hockey Tournament. The Crunch finished first in round robin play with a 3-1 record, advancing to the finals against a very tough Stoney Creek Sabers team. Both teams battled hard and Stoney Creek opened the scoring midway through the second. Napanee had several great scoring opportunities, but were denied by Stoney Creek’s goaltender. Napanee finally got on the board early in the third when Sienna Eberle tucked in a rebound tying the game 1-1. Napanee would finally take the lead late in the third when Alexa Tyner poked in a rebound off a hard shot by Neeleigh-Raye Ford. With the score 2-1, the Sabres pressed hard but couldn’t get passed Napanee’s swarming defense and excellent goaltending from Mikenna Ford. The tournament was a great test for a team that has struggled to put the puck in the net.
In Game 1 Napanee defeated the Oshawa Lady Generals 2-0 with goals scored by Tyner assisted by Emma Brummell and Brooklyn Alaver assisted by Tyner. Mikenna Ford earned the shutout.
In Game 2 Napanee defeated the Barrie Sharks 3-0 with goals scored by Alaver assisted by Eberle and Sara Marshall. Alaina Holmes has two goals assisted by Eberle, Chloe Davey and Brooke Bernasconi.
Napanee defeated Peterborough 2-0 in Game 3 with goals from Bernasconi and Eberle.
-The Midget BB Crunch had a home-and-home series this past weekend against the Whitby Wolves. The Crunch took Game 1 in Whitby, 2-1 before winning a lop-sided, chippy affair in Napanee on Sunday, 9-1.
-Napanee’s Peewee Bs Had a perfect weekend, beating the Keene Wolverines, 5-2 on Saturday and then beating the Peterborough Ice Kats, 3-2 on Saturday
–Napanee’s Bantam BB Crunch beat the Scarborough Sharks, 3-0 at home on Sunday. Keyra Herrington earner her third straight shutout.
-The Bantam B Crunch also played in the Halloween Havoc tournament, losing in the semifinals. They tied the Lyndsay Lynx, 3-3, Barrie Sharks, 0-0 before beating the host West Northumberland Wild, 2-0. They lost the rematch with the Wild in the semis, 3-2.
