9/11 Memorial Stair Climb Raises $3,000 For Fallen Firefighters
Daly Chawick, Ashley Arnold, John Corcoran and Erik Jakobsen, all firefighters with Greater Napanee Emergency Services took steps on stair climbing equipment in full bunker gear at Napanee’s Planet Fitness last Sept. 11. The event, held on the 20th anniversary of the terrorist attacks of 9/11, served as a fundraiser for the Canadian Fallen Firefighters Fund. A total of 91 people, 22 of which were GNES firefighters, climbed 110 floors on the equipment to simulate the 110 floors of the World Trade Centre which meant Planet Fitness donated $3,000 to the fund.
