Following a successful speaker panel event last year, Women with Momentum will continue with its second part of the series with an awards banquet on March 5.

Held at Napanee’s Strathcona Paper Centre starting at 5:30 p.m., the event will crown winners in four categories.

“In total 17 women were nominated by friends, family, colleagues, coaches and mentors,” said Megan Sands, manager of the Napanee Chamber of Commerce. “We were really happy with that turn out for a first time event.”

Along with NDCC, the event is hosted by the Downtown Greater Napanee Business Improvement Area.

The awards include the Touch of Wellness Women with Momentum Entrepreneur of the Year with nominee Chesserie Savell (York Stdio #165), Shelly Murphy (Napanee Blooms), Ellen Johnson (Sand N Sea), Meighen Hodgen (Diamond Fitness MMA) and Sheryl Cook (Fitt for You).

The PELA CFC Tried and Thrives Entrepreneur of the Year award has Lisa Revell (The Keto Bakery), Jazmin Bansagi (Seaon’s Fine Foods) and Cindy Baker (Baker’s Baits and Sportsman/Hair Salon) as nominees.

The Wilkinson & Co. One to Watch Award features Sarah Wyville, Nora Ayling and Olivia Hodgen.

The Rotary of Napanee Community Trail Blazer Award nominees are Pamela Rowe McCracken, Shannon Baker, Jacqueline Cote, Pam Oliver, Ellen Johnson and Deb Lowry.
Each nominee had to answer a series of questions with a committee representing a blend of the community called upon to select the recipient. The winners will take home a hand crafted award from Tamworth’s Bon Echo Design.

“We have two keynote speakers, Lori McDonald who said a little something at the November event,” said Sands. “We’re also bringing in Pam Fountas from Kingston. She is a business leader in the area and we’re really excited to have them speak.”

Tickets for the event are $50, which includes a buffet dinner. Tickets are available at the Napanee Business Centre at 47 Dundas Street E in Napanee, at www.WomenWithMomentum.com or at Napanee Opticians.

Sponsors for the event include Touch of Wellness, Wilkinson & Co., Divine Hair Studios, Mix 97 and Boyer’s Napanee.
